1 Tell Me how you would check that the brakes lights were working.
       Get some one to stand behind or have a reflective surface behind.

   2 Tell Me how would you check that the brakes were working.

        Find a safe road and apply the brake firmly to make sure that the car stops in a strait line.

   3 Tell me where you would find the information for the recommended tyre pressures and how would you check.

        Either on the fuel cap or on inside of door or in the manual. Best checked before use of car.

    4 Tell me how you would check the tyre for the correct tread depth.

         It should be 1.6 mm. Across the central three quarters and around the entire circumference.

    5 Tell me how you would make sure that the head restraint is correctly adjusted.

         It should be directly behind your head.

    6 Tell me how you would know if there was a problem with your anti-lock braking system.

         A warning light will show on the instrument panel.

    7 Tell me how you would check that the lights are working.

         Switch them on and walk round the car to check.

    8 Tell me how you would switch from dipped lights to main beam and back again.

         This is usually on the left hand lever which you push away to put full beam on and pull back to switch off.

     9 Show me how would you switch on the fog light and when would you use it.

          When visibility is less than 100 meters. It is on the same switch as the lights and should be pulled out.

   10 Show me how you would clean the windscreen using the washer and wipers.

          Usually on the same lever as the wipers and you pull it towards you.

   11 Show me how you would check that the power steering is working.

          Turn the engine on and the steering should go light.

   12 Show me how you would check the parking brake (handbrake) for excessive wear.

          Apply it normally and it should be able to go on another two or three clicks. So it has not reached the end of its working travel.

    13 Show me how you would check the horn is working.

         Switch the engine on and press the horn.

    14 Show me how you would check the direction indicators are working.

           Press the hazard light switch on and walk round the car to check all lights are flashing.

    15 Show me how would set the demister controls to clear all windows.

          Point to the heater controls and also the rear heater control.

    16 Open the bonnet and show me where the oil cap is and how would you check for the correct levels.

          Point to to oil symbol. The dip stick should be taken out and wiped clean then put back in and pulled out and the level should be between max and             min.

     17 Open the bonnet and show where you would put the engine coolant and how would you check for the correct level.

           Point to the open book symbol and you can see the max and min on the clear bottle.

      18 Open the bonnet and show me where you would put the brake fluid and how would you check for the correct level.

             Point to the bake symbol and as above the max and min levels should be clear on the bottle.

       19 Open the bonnet and show me where the windscreen reservoir is and how would you check for the correct level.

             Point to the picture of a windscreen and you should be able to see the level in the clear bottle.
